Momentum Independent Network

Experience & Background

I attended Saint Paul College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and began my career in the financial services industry in 1999, starting as a Financial Advisor with A.G. Edwards & Sons.

Over the years, I have received extensive training and held advisory roles with several major financial institutions, including:

  • Wachovia Securities

  • Wells Fargo Advisors

  • Merrill Lynch

Today, as a Financial Advisor with Momentum Independent Network, I combine more than two decades of industry experience with advanced financial planning education to help individuals and families make informed decisions about their financial futures.

My approach is comprehensive—looking beyond individual investments to understand how retirement income, taxes, investment risk, estate considerations, and other financial decisions work together.

Professional Designations

Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®)

As a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), I have completed advanced education in comprehensive financial planning.

The ChFC® designation encompasses a broad range of financial planning disciplines and reinforces my approach of looking beyond investments alone to understand how the different areas of a client's financial life work together.

My ChFC® education includes areas such as:

  • Retirement and income planning

  • Investment planning

  • Federal income taxation

  • Insurance and risk management

  • Estate planning and wealth transfer

  • Tax-aware financial planning

  • Planning for complex financial situations

I apply this comprehensive perspective when helping clients evaluate what I call The Three Pillars of Retirement Confidence: Income, Taxes, and Risk.

Income — Understanding where your retirement paycheck will come from and how your different income sources can work together.

Taxes — Evaluating tax-aware strategies with an emphasis on your long-term and lifetime tax picture.

Risk — Understanding how much investment risk you're taking, how much you need to take, and how that risk could affect your retirement strategy.

These areas don't operate independently. Decisions involving income can affect taxes, tax decisions can affect investments, and investment risk can affect the sustainability of retirement income. Comprehensive planning helps bring these decisions together into one coordinated strategy.

Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC®)

Awarded by the College for Financial Planning in 2008, the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC®) designation provides specialized education focused on retirement planning.

This specialized retirement-planning education helps me:

  • Evaluate your financial situation and lifestyle needs

  • Develop retirement strategies incorporating income, health care, estate, and tax considerations

  • Identify and evaluate potential retirement income sources

  • Help determine an appropriate retirement timeline

  • Review and refine existing retirement strategies

Combined with my ChFC® education, the CRPC® designation provides additional specialization in the financial decisions individuals and families face as they approach and transition into retirement.

Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®)

I earned my Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) designation in 2011.

Divorce involves more than dividing assets. Decisions made during the settlement process can have significant financial consequences for years to come.

As a financial professional trained in divorce financial planning, I help clients understand the financial implications of different decisions, with a focus on:

  • Financial forecasting and scenario modeling

  • Evaluating the long-term impact of settlement options

  • Identifying potentially costly financial issues during and after divorce

  • Coordinating with attorneys to clarify financial impacts and settlement outcomes

  • Planning for financial stability following divorce

Whether you're facing a divorce or rebuilding financially afterward, my role is to provide objective, numbers-based financial analysis to help you make informed decisions about your future.

A Personalized, Disciplined Approach

My approach combines comprehensive financial planning with a structured, client-first process that begins with understanding your whole financial life—not simply your investment portfolio.

I take the time to understand where you are today, what matters to you, and what you want your future to look like.

From there, I develop a coordinated wealth management strategy that considers areas such as retirement income, investments, taxes, risk management, estate considerations, and other financial issues relevant to your individual circumstances.

The objective is to bring the different pieces of your financial life together so that the decisions you make today support the future you're working toward.

Mission Statement

"My mission is to build lifelong client relationships based on trust, service, and a commitment to helping clients make informed financial decisions."

My value lies in the combination of real-world experience, advanced financial planning education, and a disciplined planning process. I partner with my clients to:

  • Develop a tailored and actionable financial strategy

  • Implement that strategy with care and accountability

  • Provide ongoing guidance as life, markets, and financial circumstances change

Through it all, my focus remains where it belongs:

You, my client.
